ALL IS NOW SET FOR THE 2O10 AEAA CONFERENCE

Preparations for the 2010 AEAA Annual Conference are in top gear. This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Prof Dibu Ojerinde in a report to the AEAA Executive Committee that met in Abuja, Nigeria from March 7th to 9th, 2010.

Prof Ojerinde confirmed that the conference will be held from 3rd to 8th October 2010 at Sheraton Abuja Hotel, Nigeria.

For easy accessibility Executive members are advised to stay at the conference venue which has offered a negotiated rate of two hundred and forty-three United States Dollars ($243.00) for bed and breakfast. However, the (LOC) has also secured hotel accommodation at the rate of $90 per bed and breakfast at Oxford Hotels, Abuja which is a walking distance to the conference venue.

Foreign delegates who may require entry visas into Nigeria were asked to register on-line and indicate their need for such facility. The letters of invitation will be given to delegates who may require them to support their visa applications.

The theme of the conference will be: “THE CHALLENGES OF QUALITY OF ASSESSMENT IN A CHANGING GLOBAL ECONOMY”. For details on sub-themes, please visit the AEAA website aeaafrica.org or the Conference web-site www.aeaa2010.com

Foreign delegates will pay $150.00 while locals (Nigerians) will pay N15, 000.00 as participation fees respectively.

Prof Ojerinde announced that for any paper to be presented during the AEAA Conference in Nigeria, it must meet certain basic requirements after a thorough vetting process. He enjoined participants to note that abstracts should be between 150 – 200 words and paper presenters should adhere to the dates for the following- Submission of Paper Abstracts: May 31st, 2010
Submission of Complete Papers: June 30th, 2010
Confirmation of Papers to be presented: July 30th, 2010

He pointed out that after vetting the materials to be presented, the authors would be informed if they would present. “We want to make the conference the best ever held by AEAA,” said Prof Ojerinde.
